| We
believe that a person's ministry is the Lord's property and
should be freely available to anyone who can use it for His
glory. Sadly, however, computers and the internet have made
it easy to violate the property rights of others by copying
or distorting their work, and using it in a way that implies
that it is their own. Even among among Bible-believing Christians,
there are those whose conscience does not restrain them from
succumbing to this temptation, which we believe constitutes
a form of theft, an act which is fundamentally
incompatible with righteous Christian behavior. For that reason
we feel it is necessary to clarify our perspective.
The
primary ministry of this web site is to locate original copies
of hard-to-find books that are out of print and in the public
domain, scan them into digital format, and format them for posting
on the internet as a free resource to be used by the Lord for
all who may benefit from our work. That process involves a considerable
amount of time, expense, and effort, so we
expect others to respect that aspect of our rights.
We ask that web masters who are interested
in making our material available on their web site refrain
from copying our material—or modified versions
of it—to their own site. Instead, they should feel free
to create a link from their site to ours. If
major changes to the formatting are desired, or there is some
compelling reason to post our material on other sites, we ask
that we be contacted for assistance.
Please
also feel free to
reproduce material from this site in other forms
for personal use or for local
ministry purposes as long as it is reproduced as originally
written, proper credit is given to the original
author, publisher, and document source [Berean Bible Ministries
of Fargo and www.bbmhp.org/], not used
in a commercial way, or any charge is made for copies,
shipping, or handling. Excerpts should be carefully selected
to maintain the original sense of the author.
Any
material published on our site "with permission"
is not our property, and we cannot grant anyone the right to
reproduce it. Permission must be obtained from the original
source.
The
footnote to the song "When I See the Blood" (#48,
Choice Hymns of the Faith, Gospel Perpetuating
Fund, Fort Dodge, Iowa, 1964) was written in a pre-electronic
day, but is still inspiring:
"Not
copyrighted. Let no one do so.
May this song be ever free to be published for the glory of
God."
